Collie Beag is a bespoke family home built in a small woodland in Cambridgeshire. The challenge for the architect was to create a contemporary home that fitted into the natural landscape, and that gave a constant visual connection to the outside.
The resulting design included plenty of floor-to-ceiling glazing which in turn required shading solutions! Wave curtains were an obvious choice, their clean lines bended perfectly with the ribbed timber external cladding. Fabric Colorama 1, combined with subtle lighting gave warmth and privacy in the evenings, and the neat Wave stack-back ensured the view was maximised during the day. Other, smaller windows were fitted with roller and venetian blinds.
